On a Sunday morning, May 12, 2019, which happened to be Mother's Day, the life of 27-year-old Dwayne R. Reid was tragically cut short. Reid, a resident of Newport News, Virginia, was at the Chippenham Square Shopping Center on Midlothian Turnpike in Chesterfield County, a part of the greater Richmond area, when he was shot multiple times around 5:15 a.m. Emergency services transported him to a local hospital, but he ultimately succumbed to his injuries.
