Shaquille Cotton, a 28-year-old man from Nashville, Tennessee, was tragically killed on January 24, 2022, in what was determined to be a targeted shooting. Cotton was standing at the passenger side of a vehicle on South Seventh Street, speaking to people inside, when an unidentified gunman approached him from behind and opened fire. He was rushed to Vanderbilt University Medical Center but succumbed to his injuries shortly after arrival.
