On a Sunday evening in Virginia Beach, Virginia, the life of 32-year-old Alexander Meade was tragically cut short. On April 17, 2022, in the 3300 block of Daytona Drive near the Lynnhaven section of the city, police responded to a call shortly after 6:45 p.m. and discovered Meade suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. He was quickly transported to a local hospital, but his injuries proved to be fatal, and he was pronounced dead shortly after his arrival.
The Virginia Beach Police Department immediately began investigating the shooting as a homicide. Meade, a resident of Norfolk, Virginia, was a former standout wrestler who had achieved significant success in high school and college.

Then, on August 16, 2023, a significant breakthrough occurred with the arrest of Michael Williams Jr. in connection with the fatal shooting. Williams was initially charged with second-degree murder for his role in Meade's death.
Following his arrest, the legal proceedings against Michael Williams Jr. moved forward. He later pleaded guilty to the lesser charges of manslaughter and robbery causing death. On May 13, 2024, Williams was sentenced for his involvement in the death of Alexander Meade. The court imposed a sentence of 50 years in prison, with 40 of those years suspended. This left him with an active prison term of 10 years to serve.
