In the early hours of a Saturday morning in Virginia Beach, a tragedy unfolded that cut short the life of Sherman Lydell Lane. On October 5, 2019, police responded to a call at 1:07 a.m. regarding a man who had been shot in the 1000 block of Atlantis Drive. Upon their arrival, they discovered 40-year-old Sherman Lydell Lane suffering from a gunshot wound. Emergency medical services were rendered at the scene, but Lane ultimately succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead.
