In the early morning hours of March 20, 2011, the life of 29-year-old Andrew Cornelius Willie Jr., a Black male, was tragically cut short in Virginia Beach, Virginia. The incident occurred in the parking lot of The After Midnight Club, located in the 700 block of Military Highway. At approximately 4:18 AM, a call reporting a shooting sent the Virginia Beach Police Department and Emergency Medical Services racing to the scene.
Upon their arrival, they discovered Willie suffering from a gunshot wound.
He was immediately transported to Sentara Norfolk General Hospital for medical attention. Despite the efforts of medical personnel, Andrew Cornelius Willie Jr. succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead. His death was classified as a homicide, prompting an investigation by the Virginia Beach Police Department. Known by his nicknames Lil Andrew, Wee Wee, Drew, or Skino, Willie was a father to three children. He had attended several local schools, including Bayside High School, and was an active member of the United House of Prayer for All People, where he participated in the Jr. Band and the Sons of Joy.
