On the afternoon of New Year's Eve in 2013, tragedy struck on a street in Camden, New Jersey, abruptly ending the life of 31-year-old Jorge Chavis. In the broad daylight of approximately 12:15 p.m., Chavis and another man, 23-year-old James Anderson, also of Camden, were fatally shot in the Gateway neighborhood. The incident occurred on the 700 block of Division Street, where both men were found deceased by the time law enforcement arrived.
