In the late hours of a Monday night in Camden, New Jersey, the sound of gunfire pierced the air, marking a tragic event that would claim the life of James Page Jr. a 39-year-old male from the city. On November 14, 2022, at approximately 11:50 p.m., the Camden County Police Department was alerted to the shooting by a ShotSpotter activation on the 1100 block of Thurman Street.
Upon their arrival, officers discovered Page suffering from apparent gunshot wounds.
He was rushed to Virtua Hospital, but despite medical efforts, he was pronounced dead in the early morning hours of Tuesday, November 15, 2022, at 12:44 a.m. In the midst of this violence, another man, aged 36, was also struck by gunfire. He was taken to the same hospital and was reported to be in stable condition.
The circumstances surrounding the shooting remain under investigation by the Camden County Prosecutor's Office Homicide Unit and the Camden County Police Department.
