On a cold December evening in Camden, New Jersey, tragedy struck, forever altering the lives of those connected to Darrell Matthews. It was the day after Christmas in 2020 when the 46-year-old man was found inside an apartment on the 1200 block of Chestnut Street with a fatal gunshot wound to his chest. The call came in around 8 p.m., and though he was rushed to a nearby hospital, his life could not be saved.
