In the late evening hours of March 24, 2019, violence tragically interrupted the night on the 2500 block of Carman Street in Camden, New Jersey. Inside a residence, Anthony Lewis, a 49-year-old man, was discovered with a gunshot wound. Emergency services were called to the scene at approximately 11:30 p.m., and Lewis was quickly transported to Cooper University Hospital for treatment.
For nearly three weeks, Lewis battled the severe injuries he sustained in the shooting.
His fight for life, however, came to a sorrowful end on the afternoon of Saturday, April 13, 2019, when he was pronounced dead at the hospital.
