In the summer of 2015, a wave of violence shook the city of Elizabeth, New Jersey, culminating in the tragic death of Kelvin Nelson. On the night of Thursday, June 25, 2015, the 32-year-old Elizabeth resident, known to his loved ones as 'Kuke,' was gunned down in the 300 block of Clark Place. Responding to reports of gunfire at approximately 10:50 p.m., police officers discovered Nelson suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
