On a cold Friday afternoon in February of 2016, a burst of gunfire shattered the quiet of a Newark neighborhood. When police responded to reports of a shooting on the 100 block of Prince Street at around 5 p.m., they found a man lying mortally wounded. The victim was identified as Alvin B. Allen, a 46-year-old male from the nearby city of East Orange.
