On a summer afternoon, the Fourth of July was tragically cut short for a Newark man. Earl Cohen, a 46-year-old male resident of Newark, was fatally shot on the 100 block of Brookdale Avenue. The incident, which also claimed the life of 36-year-old Nekeya Grady of Willingboro, unfolded around 3 p.m. Both Cohen and Grady were pronounced dead at the scene at 2:58 p.m.
