In the early morning hours of January 18, 2015, a burst of gunfire outside a social club on Emmett Street in Newark, New Jersey, shattered the predawn quiet and ended the life of 27-year-old Daniel Morales of Elizabeth. The fatal shooting, which also left a 20-year-old woman wounded, set in motion an investigation by the Essex County Prosecutor's Major Crimes Task Force.
