On a Sunday night in July 2015, a burst of violence in Newark, New Jersey, claimed the life of 20-year-old Brent Williams, a male resident of nearby East Orange. The incident unfolded on July 12th, when police responded to reports of a shooting at the intersection of Huntington Terrace and Lehigh Avenue. Arriving at the scene at approximately 10:49 p.m., officers discovered Williams inside a car, unresponsive and suffering from a gunshot wound.
