In the spring of 2018, the life of 26-year-old Everado Bello was tragically cut short on the streets of Camden, New Jersey. On the evening of Saturday, April 14th, the sounds of multiple gunshots pierced the air in the area of North 4th and York streets. Camden County police officers on patrol nearby heard the gunfire and responded to the scene.
They discovered Bello on the sidewalk in the 900 block of North Fourth Street, suffering from several gunshot wounds. He was rushed to Cooper University Hospital for medical attention. At the same time, detectives learned that a second victim, a 39-year-old man from Camden, had also been taken to the hospital with multiple gunshot wounds sustained at the same location.
Despite the efforts of medical professionals, Everado Bello succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead on the morning of Sunday, April 15, 2018.
The second victim was reported to be receiving treatment for his injuries.
In the wake of the shooting, an active investigation was launched by the Camden County Prosecutor's Office and the Camden County Police Department. Authorities have urged anyone with information regarding the incident to come forward. To date, no arrests have been made in connection with the shooting, and no suspects have been publicly identified. The circumstances that led to the fatal shooting remain under investigation.
