In the late hours of a Sunday evening in Camden, New Jersey, the sound of gunfire shattered the peace on Diamond Street. On October 2, 2022, authorities received a 911 call around 11:20 PM reporting multiple gunshots in the area of the 1000 block. Shortly thereafter, another call came in about a man who had been shot. When police arrived at the scene, they discovered one man suffering from a gunshot wound and he was immediately transported to Cooper University Hospital for medical attention.
As the investigation began to unfold, Camden County Police were made aware of two other gunshot victims who had arrived at the same hospital by their own means. One of these victims was a 21-year-old male named Liaquia L. Moore. Despite the efforts of the medical staff, Moore succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased at 12:35 a.m. The other two victims, a male and a female, were treated for their injuries and were reported to be in stable condition.
The Camden County Prosecutor's Office and the Camden County Police Department are actively investigating the shooting that led to Liaquia L. Moore's death. At this time, no arrests have been made, and no suspects have been publicly identified in connection with the incident. Law enforcement officials have urged anyone with information regarding the shooting to come forward to assist in the ongoing investigation.
