In the winter of 2018, a tragedy unfolded in Grand Rapids, Michigan, forever altering the lives of a local family. Two-year-old King Josiah Talbert and his 46-year-old grandmother, Germaine Brown, were found shot to death in their home on Montgomery Street SE on January 17, 2018. The discovery of their bodies sent shockwaves through the Garfield Park neighborhood and prompted a widespread investigation by the Grand Rapids Police Department.
