Joseph Floyd Taylor, a 29-year-old Black/African American male, was a dedicated police officer with the Grand Rapids Police Department. Having served on the force for six years, he was assigned to the Burglary Unit, where he was known for his commitment to his duty. His life, however, was tragically cut short on November 17, 1986, while in the line of duty.
