On a spring morning in Grand Rapids, Michigan, a confrontation that began in the parking lot of a liquor store tragically escalated, ending the life of 39-year-old Brandon Clark. The incident, which unfolded on Saturday, April 13, 2024, culminated in a fatal shooting that would later be ruled a homicide by the Kent County Medical Examiner.
The events leading to Clark's death reportedly started with an altercation outside a liquor store.
This initial dispute led to a foot chase, with the conflict tragically concluding in the 1100 block of Lafayette Ave SE. It was here that Brandon Clark was shot. Despite attempts at life-saving measures by those who arrived at the scene, he was pronounced dead.
In the wake of the shooting, a suspect was quickly identified and taken into custody by the Grand Rapids Police Department. The individual arrested was 24-year-old Dayshaun Catledge. Following his arrest, Catledge was charged with open murder and a felony firearm offense in connection with Brandon Clark's death. The case then moved to the judicial system to address the charges brought against him.
