In the early morning hours of July 8, 2007, a call came in about a domestic disturbance on Emerald Avenue NE in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Robert Anthony Kozminski, a 29-year-old male police officer with seven years of service on the force, was one of the officers who responded. The report indicated a man was at the residence, armed with a gun and making threats to shoot people. As a dedicated officer, Kozminski proceeded to the scene to protect the community he served.
