James Wayne Armstrong was a 42-year-old male pastor serving at the Sash Assembly of God church in Sash, Texas. On August 28, 2005, he was outside speaking with his wife and several congregants when a confrontation erupted with a man identified as Freddie, also known as A.P. Cranshaw, who was in his mid-50s.
