Ernest Wesley Brown, a 61-year-old man, tragically lost his life on August 28, 2005, in Sash, Texas. Brown was fatally shot by Frederick Leroy Cranshaw, a 54-year-old man who had recently moved to the area. Cranshaw opened fire with a .38-caliber revolver outside the Sash Assembly of God church, killing Brown and Pastor James Wayne Armstrong, 42, who was also present at the scene.
