In a tragic sequence of events that unfolded in a Grand Rapids parking lot, 17-year-old James King, a senior at East Kentwood High School, lost his life. The young man was shot and killed on January 13, 2019, during what was orchestrated to be a robbery disguised as a marijuana deal.
