On a late Friday night in Grand Rapids, Michigan, the life of Arthur Deonte Brown, a 33-year-old Black man from Detroit, was tragically cut short. On June 25, 2021, at approximately 11:30 p.m., police responded to a call about a shooting in a parking lot situated near the intersection of Madison Avenue SE and 28th Street SE. Upon their arrival, they discovered Brown with a fatal gunshot wound. Despite the immediate life-saving efforts of the officers at the scene, he was pronounced dead.
