On the evening of May 6, 2022, a violent encounter at a Detroit gas station tragically cut short the life of 47-year-old Arthur Gowens, a Black male resident of the city. The incident unfolded at approximately 5:45 p.m. in the 8820 block of Wyoming Avenue when Gowens was confronted by an assailant in what began as a robbery.
