In the late hours of a Saturday night in Louisville, Kentucky, the life of 43-year-old Christina Joslin came to a tragic and violent end. On May 31, 2014, at a Thorntons gas station on Cane Run Road, Christina was shot and killed by her estranged husband, 40-year-old Scott Joslin Sr., in what police would later rule a murder-suicide. Christina, a White female, was pronounced dead at the scene from gunshot wounds.
The couple, who were separated, had arrived at the gas station in separate
vehicles. After an exchange of words in the parking lot, Christina went inside the store to make a purchase while Scott waited outside. When she returned, the altercation escalated, and Scott fatally shot Christina before turning the gun on himself. He was transported to the University of Louisville Hospital where he died the following day.
Witnesses at the typically busy gas station reported hearing the gunshots that shattered the evening calm. The Jefferson County Coroner's office noted that it appeared Christina had packed her car, possibly in the process of moving out of the home she had shared with her husband in East Louisville. The Louisville Metro Police Department's Homicide detectives investigated the case, which left the local community in shock. Given that the perpetrator took his own life, there were no arrests or ongoing investigations into Christina's death.
