In the summer of 2020, the life of 38-year-old Linda Gibson was tragically cut short in Louisville, Kentucky. On the evening of Tuesday, July 14, police responded to a call about a person down in an alley in the 700 block of South 32nd Street, near West Broadway. There, they discovered Linda Gibson, who had sustained a fatal gunshot wound. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
The Louisville Metro Police Department's Homicide Unit immediately began an investigation into her death, which
was officially ruled a homicide. In the days following the discovery of her body, authorities had not yet identified any suspects or determined a motive for the shooting. The investigation remains ongoing, and as of now, no arrests have been made in connection with her murder, leaving her case unresolved.
This tragedy was compounded by the fact that it was the second devastating loss for her family in a short period. Just a year prior, Linda Gibson's own daughter, Robin O'Bryant, was also killed. The back-to-back murders of a mother and daughter have left their loved ones grappling with immense grief while they continue to await justice for Linda's death.
