In the quiet neighborhood of Valley Station in Louisville, Kentucky, a grim discovery was made on a Saturday morning, shattering the image of a 'normal traditional family.' Mary Njoki Muchemi Stanton, a 49-year-old female of Kenyan ethnicity, was found dead in her home. She, along with her two daughters, 17-year-old Andrianna Stanton and 11-year-old Brianna Stanton, had been shot and killed.
The incident, which occurred just six days after Mary's birthday, was investigated by the Louisville Metro Police Department.
The primary suspect in the triple homicide was identified as Mary's 60-year-old husband, Gary Stanton. Authorities believe he was the aggressor in the tragic event, fatally shooting his wife and two daughters before taking his own life with a self-inflicted gunshot wound. The Jefferson County Coroner's Office later confirmed that Mary and her older daughter, Andrianna, died from multiple gunshot wounds, while the youngest, Brianna, was shot once. The case was determined to be a murder-suicide, and therefore, no arrests were made as the sole suspect was also deceased.
