In the fall of 2015, a 35-year-old woman named Annoqunette Starr lost her life in a violent encounter in her Louisville, Kentucky apartment. On the evening of September 30th, her life was cut short when she was shot multiple times. The tragic event unfolded in her residence on Rodman Street, in the vicinity of the historic Churchill Downs. Unbeknownst to her, Starr's 10-year-old niece was also present in the home at the time of the fatal shooting but remained unaware of the horrific events that
had transpired.
The circumstances following her death took a strange turn when a man named Carlos Stone approached police officers outside of a local White Castle restaurant around 11 p.m. that same night. In a startling admission, Stone, who was identified as Starr's boyfriend, confessed to the officers that he had killed his girlfriend. His confession led the police to the apartment he shared with Starr, where they discovered her body.
In the wake of the discovery, those who knew Annoqunette Starr recalled her as being protective of her young niece. A neighbor mentioned that Starr had expressed a desire to end her relationship with Stone, indicating a troubled dynamic between the two. Carlos Stone was subsequently arrested and faced charges of murder and tampering with physical evidence.
