Having only recently moved to the area on the 600 block of S 44th Street, she was just beginning to settle into her new surroundings.

by the sound of gunfire. A vehicle drove by, and an occupant opened fire into the crowd of people, firing at least eight shots before speeding away. In the chaos that followed, it was discovered that Charlotte had been struck. She tragically bled out from her injuries and died at the scene. Another man who was standing near her was also hit by the gunfire, but he survived his wounds. Investigators have considered the possibility that the man standing next to Charlotte may have been the intended target of the attack.
Years have passed since that fatal night, yet the case remains unsolved, and no arrests have been made in connection with her murder. The pain of her loss is still deeply felt by her family, including her mother, sister, and her two young children, a son and a daughter, who were left without their mother. Her family has made emotional public appeals for anyone with information to come forward, emphasizing that numerous people were present when the shooting occurred. They believe that someone holds the key to bringing her killer to justice and providing a measure of closure for her grieving loved ones.
