Daniel Louis Falk, a 36-year-old man, was found shot to death just before 9 p.m. on Hedgewick Way. Danny, as he was known to friends and family, had spent most of his life in Louisville. A graduate of Trinity High School and Nashville Auto Diesel College, he was a man who found his greatest joy in the outdoors, working with his hands, and, most of all, spending time with his son, Matt. Their shared love for animals, fishing, and camping created a bond that was a source of immense pride and happiness for Danny. His life was one filled with simple pleasures and a deep connection to his family.
In the aftermath of the shooting, the Louisville Metro Police Department reported that a suspect had been taken into custody. However, the progression of the case remained uncertain as it was handed over to the Commonwealth Attorney's Office to determine if charges would be warranted. The motive behind the shooting was not immediately clear to the public, leaving a painful void for those who knew and loved Danny. He was remembered for his goofy, funny, and shy personality by those who had known him since his teenage years, a friend who would always check in and could be counted on for an adventure.
Danny was preceded in death by his older brother, Matthew, and his grandfather. He left behind a loving family, including his son, parents, grandparents, siblings, and his girlfriend, Kimberly Tyson, along with a wide circle of friends, aunts, uncles, and cousins.
