On the final day of a year marked by a surge in violence in Louisville, Kentucky, the lives of two young people were tragically cut short. In the early morning hours of December 31, 2020, 23-year-old Daniel Key, Jr., a Black male, and 21-year-old Antonia Lucas were discovered shot to death inside a vehicle in the Smoketown neighborhood. The car was found on Lampton Street, and the Jefferson County Coroner's Office later confirmed that both individuals had died from gunshot wounds.
