In the late evening hours of a Saturday in the Fern Creek neighborhood of Louisville, Kentucky, a burst of violence shattered the quiet of Plumwood Drive. On September 1, 2018, 41-year-old Kenneth Erwin Jr. was shot in the chest. The incident occurred just after 9:30 p.m. inside a residence in the 9400 block of the street. Emergency services were called to the scene, and Erwin was rushed towards University Hospital, but tragically succumbed to his injuries en route, dying just before 10 p.m.
