On the evening of October 6, 2015, Joseph Keith Otis, a 55-year-old Black / African American male, was at Club Cedar on South 26th Street in Louisville, Kentucky, when a dispute escalated into a fatal shooting. The incident was the culmination of a long-standing conflict between Otis and another man, Maurice Deal.
