In the early evening of August 21, 2021, tragedy struck at an apartment complex in the Fern Creek neighborhood of Louisville, Kentucky, where William Woods Jr., a 28-year-old Black male, was fatally shot. The Louisville Metro Police Department responded to a call of a shooting at the Park at Hurstbourne apartments on Oxford Place at approximately 7:15 p.m. Upon their arrival, officers discovered Woods, who had sustained a gunshot wound.
