Jonathan O'Shaughnessy, aged 24, was tragically killed on July 3, 2017, in a drive-by shooting in Richfield, a suburb of Minneapolis, MN. On that fateful night, Jonathan was walking home with family members from the city's Fourth of July street dance. Around 11:15 p.m., near 64th Street and 4th Avenue, a van approached and opened fire on the group. Jonathan was struck and died in his mother's arms at the scene.

For instance, on the sixth anniversary of his death, they collaborated with Pet Haven, a nonprofit animal rescue organization, to collect over 700 pairs of shoes for a fundraising drive. These efforts not only commemorate Jonathan's life but also contribute positively to the community.
The Richfield Police Department, along with the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension and Crimestoppers, continues to offer a $50,000 reward for information leading to an arrest and conviction in this case.
