Maurice Orlando Brown, a 17-year-old student at Minneapolis South High School, was found fatally shot on March 31, 2015. The incident occurred on the 2200 block of 13th Avenue South in Minneapolis. Police were alerted to the scene by the ShotSpotter gunshot detection system, which reported gunfire in the area. Upon arrival, officers discovered Brown with a gunshot wound to the chest. Despite efforts to save him, he was pronounced dead at the scene.
