Omarr Deon Johnson, aged 23, was fatally shot on July 27, 2015, in Minneapolis, Minnesota. The incident occurred around 12:10 a.m. at the intersection of 34th Avenue North and Morgan Avenue. Johnson was found dead at the scene, having sustained multiple gunshot wounds. The shooting was part of a dispute between individuals in two cars, which escalated into gunfire.
Another individual was also injured in the incident and was taken to North Memorial Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries.
Following the shooting, Nigeria Lee Harvey, also 23 years old, was arrested by the Minneapolis Police Department. Harvey was booked into the Hennepin County Adult Detention Center on probable cause of murder and attempted murder. He is being held without bail as the investigation continues. The police have not released Harvey's booking photo as they are still conducting their inquiries.
The shooting involving Johnson was one of two fatal gun incidents in Minneapolis over that weekend. The other incident, which occurred near Franklin and Chicago avenues, resulted in the deaths of two individuals, including 24-year-old Abdirahman Ahmed Jined from St. Paul.
