On June 11, 2010, 22-year-old Matthew Deon Johnson was tragically shot in the head near an apartment building in north Minneapolis. He was later pronounced dead at the hospital. This incident was part of a violent period in Minneapolis, with multiple homicides occurring within a short span of time.
