In the early hours of a Tuesday morning, the quiet of a Kansas City, Kansas neighborhood was shattered by violence. Melvin Lone, a 63-year-old Caucasian male, was outside of his residence in the 4300 block of Farrow Lane on December 16, 2014, when his life was tragically cut short. Police were initially dispatched to the area around 1:30 a.m. following a report of an armed disturbance. A subsequent call to authorities reported a shooting had occurred.
