On a summer morning in 2019, the life of a young Black man, Charles L. Morris Jr., was cut short in Kansas City, Kansas. The 22-year-old was discovered shot to death on Saturday, August 17, 2019. His body was found shortly before 8 a.m. in the 5100 block of Cleveland Avenue after police responded to a call about a deceased person. Emergency medical personnel who arrived at the scene confirmed he was dead.
