On a summer night in Kansas City, Kansas, the life of Carlton Newsom, a 44-year-old Black/African American man, was tragically cut short. On July 13, 2022, police were called to a home in the 1700 block of North 58th Street shortly after 12:20 a.m. Inside, they discovered Newsom, who had been fatally shot. The case is being investigated as a homicide.
