On the evening of November 4, 2015, in Kansas City, Kansas, 37-year-old Andrew P. Harman, a male known to his loved ones as Drew, was found with a gunshot wound to his face in the area of 28 N. Ninth Street. The call reporting the shooting came in at approximately 5:40 p.m. Emergency services arrived at the scene and transported Harman to a local hospital, but he ultimately succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead.
The investigation into Harman's death led to the identification
of a suspect. In December 2015, Isaiah S. Butler, a 17-year-old resident of Kansas City, Kansas, was taken into custody in connection with the fatal shooting. The Wyandotte County District Attorney's office filed charges against Butler, including one count of first-degree felony murder, two counts of aggravated assault with a firearm, and one count of criminal possession of a firearm by a prohibited person. Prosecutors announced their intention to try Butler as an adult.
Andrew Harman was a husband and father. He was survived by his wife, Jennifer, their four children, and a grandson. His death left a void in the lives of his parents, siblings, and a wide circle of family and friends who remembered him as a good friend who was deeply respected.
