Sheryia Ronsha Grant, a 20-year-old woman who was eight months pregnant, was last seen in Kilgore, Texas, on the night of August 19-20, 2016. She was eagerly anticipating the birth of her daughter, whom she had planned to name I'yanna Ree Grant, and had been purchasing baby supplies from her paychecks. Her sudden disappearance raised concerns, especially since all of her belongings, including baby items, were left behind.
Evidence emerged suggesting that both Sheryia and her unborn child were victims of foul play. A car linked to her ex-boyfriend, Allen Sutton, and his girlfriend, Laneshia Young, was found with missing trunk liners, and blood matching Sheryia’s DNA was discovered in the vehicle. In 2017, both Sutton and Young were charged with tampering with physical evidence (human corpse), but Sheryia’s body has never been found. It is believed that Sutton and Young were involved in her murder, and in 2021, they were charged with capital murder.
