A dream of a new life in America for two brothers from Mexico ended in tragedy on a summer evening in Kansas City, Kansas. Carlos Chavira, a 30-year-old Hispanic male, and his younger brother, Oswaldo Saucedo-Chavira, age 25, were together when their lives were cut short by gunfire on August 17, 2022. The brothers were discovered by police officers responding to a shooting call around 5 p.m. in the 1500 block of Haskell Avenue, where they were both pronounced dead at the scene.
