On November 18, 1991, at approximately 11:04 a.m., Henry Carl Robinette, Jr., a Wells Fargo armored guard, was fatally shot during an armed robbery outside the Hamburger Hamlet restaurant located at 5225 Wisconsin Avenue, NW, Washington, D.C. Robinette was performing his official duties, collecting weekend receipts from the restaurant, when he was approached by two unknown Black men. The suspects shot Robinette multiple times and stole cash and traveler's checks before fleeing the scene.
