On the evening of March 20, 2021, a 23-year-old Black/African American male named Deonte Minor was fatally shot in Washington, D.C. A resident of King George, Virginia, Minor was a passenger in an Uber, reportedly on his way to his sister's baby shower. The vehicle was located in the 1200 block of Southern Avenue, Southeast, waiting to make a turn when the shooting occurred.
