On September 13, 2016, 18-year-old Tesean Jermaine Ashe was found unconscious and not breathing in the 1500 block of Benning Road, Northeast Washington, D.C. He had suffered multiple gunshot wounds and was discovered by police officers around 5:30 p.m. Despite being transported to the hospital, Ashe was pronounced dead shortly after arrival. The incident occurred in a residential area, and the police quickly cordoned off the scene to begin their investigation.
