In the spring of 2024, a burst of gunfire shattered the afternoon calm in a Northeast Washington, D.C. neighborhood, leaving two men injured and one fighting for his life. The incident unfolded around 1:20 p.m. on Saturday, May 11th, in the 3600 block of Hayes Street, NE. When police arrived at the scene, they discovered two men suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.
