On a Wednesday morning, November 30, 2005, the life of 18-year-old James Simms was cut short in Washington, D.C. A student at Roosevelt Senior High School, the young man was discovered around 9:45 a.m. in the driver's seat of a black Oldsmobile. The car had crashed into another vehicle in the 500 block of Taylor Street NW. Simms had sustained multiple gunshot wounds and was rushed to Howard University Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
